Tibetan Sets Self on Fire at Anti-China Protest

A Tibetan has set himself on fire at a protest in India＇s capital ahead of a visit by China＇s president.

The man was engulfed in flames Monday in New Delhi before his fellow demonstrators beat out the fire.

The protester was taken to a hospital, but the severity of his injuries was not immediately clear.

Chinese President Hu Jintao is expected to arrive in India later this week for a summit meeting.

Tibetan rights groups say 30 Tibetans have set themselves on fire this year to protest Chinese rule in Tibet.

China says Tibet has always been part of its territory. Tibetans say the Himalayan region was virtually independent for centuries.
