No UN Staff Hurt in Afghan Suicide Attack

U.N. officials say none of the world body＇s staff members were harmed  in a suicide bomber attack on the international organization＇s compound in western Afghanistan.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack by at least four militants Saturday in Herat.   

U.N. officials say suicide bombers struck the compound, allowing other insurgents dressed in police uniforms and burqas to enter the building.  Officials say the extremists were killed in the attack.  

Afghan security forces have surrounded the building.  

Last year, several attacks targeted international operations in the Afghan capital, Kabul, including attacks on a U.N. guesthouse and the Indian Embassy.
