Authority without Supervision will Inevitably Lead to Corruption
林年灯(Lin, Niandeng)
Since the economic reform and open up policy, the slogan “Fighting Embezzlement! Fighting Corruption!” has been shouted loudly. After several decades, what is the result? Even though Chinese economy has developed, corruption of the officials becomes more and more severe. What went wrong? Officials on different levels control power, which is short of supervision, authority without supervision will absolutely lead to corruption.
Even though there is a serious corruption problem in the Chinese society, the number of officials punished due to corruption issue is very limited. Why there are such phenomena? It is due to the CCP’s autocratic system.Power under such a system is short of a strong monitoring mechanism. The CCP government is the law maker and law performer. How can such a government not corrupted. The government advocates anti-corruption every day, but the officials still do whatever they want and are corrupted as usually. Because of the existing social corruption system in China, even though the government has the intention of fighting corruption, it has no strength to implement it.
